Should Presidents Be Given The Power To Issue Commutations And Pardons?

President Bush commuted the jail sentence of former Vice Presidential chief of Staff Irving ''Scooter'' Libby on late Monday, July 02nd, 2007. He won't have to serve the 2 1/2 years in prison but he still has to pay the $250,000 fine and Libby also remains 2 years on probation. Libby was convicted... Sign in to see full entry.
