Tomorrow is the big annual horse shoe tournament of Pike lake! Set in the Gatineau valley, surrounded by high mountains of pines and spruces with a little maple here and there (for colour in the fall!), this little lake is a gem of fresh cool clear water, only 40 minutes or so from Ottawa.
