I try to not complain just to see how long he will let me cook or freeze........he's pretty good about it.

And I find it too hot when it passes 70! Can't sleep if it's above 65 at night, but we don't have it often enough to merit air conditioning. Thank you so much for Handle's water music - lovely.

Aren't we all funny creatures, the way we wait until we can't bear it anymore to turn on the furnace in the winter and the AC in the summer! But having said this....we are exactly the same way around our place....!

Re: benzinha
Wiley, sorry the heat was unbearable, I find humidity kills me and this Arizona heat, when I stand in the shade with the smallest movement of air, is okay for me, even at 114.

Re:
yup, mariposa, pool parties all over the town for awhile now. Still cold water, but not impossibly cold and on a HOT day, it feels good.

Re: I say when you feel hot just turn it on, when it kools down turn it off
Swamp coolers can be expensive to us poor folks, Tzippy,  sigh...............I cook in a HOT HOUSE often to be able to afford to use it when I absolutely MUST, like in August.

Re: To cool or Too Cool...
majroj, I have overhangs and trees and a thick adobe house from the 1930s. Yum.

I drove Arizona once in the summer of '07, from Carpenteria CA to the Grand Canyon, and the heat was unbearable for me. I was happy to get back in the cool.

I miss the HOT Tucson weather. When I call my friends in Catalina, they are swimming in their pool already! It's been cool here again in Oregon. Hope you get your cooler going.

Arizona is hotter than hell in the summer, swamp koolers are not expensive, go for it, and enjoy your summer.

To cool or Too Cool...
IT's that awkward perios for us, AC on during hte day, then turn it off at night. Sign of a modern house, no overhang to the roof and no trees shading the south side of the house.
