I am a recent transplant to Kentucky. I saw a bumper sticker that read: I wasn't born in Kentucky, but I got here as soon as I could. (My sentiments exactly.)
I have lived a long time in the workaday world and am enjoying not being there anymore. I have my kids, grandkids, and friends around me, an excellent church home and a great pastor who is also a wonderful teacher.
I lived in southern California for over 40 years and didn't like it nearly that long. When people asked me what in the world possessed me to move to Kentucky, I have a few words I repeat, "One, God sent me here, and Two, traffic!"
I've spent nearly as much of my life sitting on California freeways as I have living in beautiful, woodsy, cool, green southeastern Kentucky. 'Nuf said?
I'm here to build a refuge for God's people where they can come for a day, a month, a year, or a lifetime, and settle into the land provided for a fantastic voyage in getting to know our Savior completely. It should be up and running by spring, 2007.
Anyone interested in donating or more information, give me a yell.
God bless the peacemakers,
Amen!
