I am 68 years of age, on July 13th that will move up one point to 69. I served as pastor of Southern Baptist Churches for forty years and retired from the active pastoral ministry in 1998. Since then, I am serving in my 5th intermin. Two was for a year and a half, one was for a year, one for 9 months, and presently in my11th month with my 5th.

My wife and I will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary on June 13th of this year. We live in the country, 7 miles from the town in which we grew up and went to school. My education carried me through the B.A. and Master of Divinity degrees and some work on a Doctor of Ministry degree.

I enjoy golf. My wife and I play as often as we can. We both played tennis up until about 4 years ago when we both started have some problems with feet and shoulders. Golf is a little slower for us old folk.

We have two children, a girl and then a boy. They each have a girl and then a boy. One grand-son is still in high school and will finish in a year.

I was born on July 13, 1936 and born again when I was seventeen. God called me to preach on the very night I was saved. I had joined the church when 12 and was faithful to our church through the years. But when 17 I realized that I had done nothing more than join the church, I had never experienced that personal invitation for Jesus to become my Lord and Savior.

I write a weekly devotional for a local weekly newspaper. The same devotion is included in the Sunday edition of the daily newspaper in McComb, MS. I also have a web site (www.odusjacksonministries.com) that includes a weekly devotion plus other writings. I'm trying to learn how to utilize the web site for some downloadable articles.

Other than that, I'm enjoying retirement and the ministry opportunities which God has given to me.
