I am a Texan bred and born lived here all my life. Love my state!!! I work for a college that I have been with for way too many years now. Love all my staff and faculty because we are like family. I recently last year lost my husband to suicide still grieving over the precious 20 yr old daughter we lost in 2002. She was killed by a drunk driver. . She was about to graduate with her BS in MIS with a 4.0 grade average. Please, don't drink and drive I beg you
Through all of this I have come through by grace of God and my sister-best friend. We are only children so we are sisters in name. From this my poetry has surfaced stronger and with more fevered passion. I use to write sometimes but never on a daily basis. It is emotional for me and the words I write come from inside concerning what I know and have personally experienced. I love music a die hard rocker, I sing and use to be in a rock band. Can't read music or play a dog gone thing! I do shake a mean tamborine, though :)
I hope that my humble attempt at prose will bring a smile to someone's face and maybe a tug at someone's heart. I have learned so much and have so much more to learn in the future. Johnny is real. Recently learned that Johnny is conn and fake. I loved him with my heart and he broke it. To him I will be forever grateful for the hard lesson of life and how people can hurt without a blinking of an eye and no remorse. Poetry is my art and as I am sad to say that what was written from my heart about him turned out not to be real, it is my work that will stand. I am proud of this poem and the work I put it in it.
