I live in Seattle with my wife, Anne.  Outside of working to make a living, I also write regularly.  My main interest is science fiction.  I've sold a few short stories and articles to magazines, and have a novel I'm trying to sell.  My greatest writing success to date has been winning the top prize in the Writers of the Future Contest.

For reading, I tend to like traditional sf and some space opera -- Heinlein, Lois McMaster Bujold, Robert Sawyer.  Not crazy about what's been written in fantasy since early Elric, but I like Robert E Howard's stuff.  I read Discover magazine every month and follow truthout.org.
