I'm 38. I guess that means my life is half over already. It finally occured to me this summer that I've finally managed to fill all the pre-requisites and I could actually be a writer now. You know the pre-requisites...the things your parents or other well meaning people tell you you have to do, like: finish college, get a "real" job, live a little so you will have something to write about, etc.
Okay. I finally finished my degree last summer, while working full-time and being a single parent. I have a pretty good job, even if it doesn't always feel "real", I think I can at least fake that one. And I've certainly done my share of living: 4 divorces, 6 years as a long-haul truck driver, not to mention a dozen other jobs that never quite worked out!
By the way, about my screen name, I live in Tooele, UT. That's "too ella", just in case you were wondering.
So, I'm ready. Now where do I start?
