All about me:
My life began with the doctors telling my mother and father I was stillborn. Mom just kept on screaming for me, finally hospital staff found me.
My life as it began was a constant battle. My mother worked through the night, cleaning church whites, school clothes while my father worked the golfed. With the six of us things were hard (not that we really understood the condition of pinching pennies.) Boy you can bet I understand the concept now!
Central to my being is water and boating safety skills and education including shark awareness. I teach children bodysurfing, it is much cheaper to learn this skill than surfing (just because of the cost.) My family surfs and my nephew was in Surfer Magazine the same year I was hit by a bull sharks. Dedication to the USCG search and rescue is part of my story. I will say the United States Coast Guard are top drawer. They were first on the scene in New Orleans, Galveston, Mississippi. And that is just the tip of the iceberg for the duties the USCG does for us and for any other country who might need us during difficult times.
