Sometimes I feel like I'm writing against the void, or just fighting against the void. I hope that helps explain my name.
I am a journalist and a creative writer--but not at the same time! I'm not a Jayson Blair or a Jack Kelley. :-) I love my job, but sometimes I wish I could just sit in a room facing spring woods and writing short stories and novels. So maybe someday I will.
Writing is my life, and always has been. My mom claims I taught myself how to write--I'd trace letters out of books and form words. And then I'd put the words into poems. She kept some of them; only a few actually make sense. But considering I was only 3, I think she knew deep inside me was a writer trying to be free.
My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. I'm conservative, rare for a reporter. I support the war and our troops. It bothers me when people try to compare this war to Vietnam. It's not. I wanted to bomb the entire Middle East the second I saw the Towers fall. So that's where I stand on that.
I love to talk to others about writing, too... And I'm curious about how this whole thing works.
