About Potlaki

 See my Member Profile

I was born and bred in South Africa, with my ancestors having arrived at the southern tip of the continent in 1693. I live in Krugersdorp, a dormitory suburb of Johannesburg. I have retired both as minister of religion and as professor in Religious Studies but still remain interested in all facets of religion in society, such as Religion-State Relations, Religious Freedom, Interreligious Dialogue, Religious Conflict, Religious Diversity etc. The nickname Potlaki has been given to me by Setswana speaking members of my first parish. It means " he who is in a hurry"! At the time, I most probably deserved it, although I think I have slowed down through the years!
