I have been writing since I was 7 years old. I began writing poetry and daily journal entries. By my teens, I was writing poetry about the frustrating teenage years. In my 20s, my writing entailed poems about love and lost love and was the era I began writing Christian poetry. By my 30s, I had so many ideas and thoughts in my mind it would drive me absolutely nuts until I got them down on paper and could see the whole picture for myself. I realized each piece was a story in itself. I was struggling with mental illness, job loss, divorce and loss of a loved one. My poetry grew deeper and darker as I entered therapy and explored my mind and soul with intensity. Although my poetry was dark, by the end there was the light of God enlightening my path. I pursued my dream of getting a college degree in film production and found writing screenplays as a new niche. Now in my 40s, after many years of reflection and healing, I am still writing poetry and presently finishing the screenplay I started back in film school. I hope to soon start school to learn writing fiction and nonfiction for adults. I am interested in writing novels and for magazines.
My blogs here are of my present poetry and poetry I included in a self-made chapbook called "Tortured Mind, Poetic Heart." I will also blog in the Religion and Spirituality section on Christianity and what it means to me.
