I'm not quite claustrophobic but if you keep me in one place for too long then I could be. That is why I love to travel. Every trip on which I've been has at least one moment, one split second at the very least, that made its mark on me. Think back to the last trip you made, be it the time you drove an hour south to see your mother or the time you flew over to Tokyo. No matter how good or bad of a time it was you have to admit there is always at least one little thing that sticks in your mind. Those little things may not be so valuable to you, but they are the moments that define me. I tend to take it quite personally when a fish bites me on the leg while I'm snorkeling off the shore of the phiphi islands in Thailand. And when I wake up one morning and realize that I can speak a new language, I most certainly won't keep that to myself. I'm not one to just let these things go. That is why I am a writer.
