Alcoholism is a very deadly decease.  People do not realize how deadly it can be.

I found that if the person does not want help, no matter how hard you try to help them, love them, and give them reason to quit.  They don’t hear you.

When they find an unenabler, one who refuses to let alcohol around them.  Stands by their side, and truly gives them a reason to stop drinking.  They are miserable and will look for an enabler.

An enabler is one who drinks with them, does not realize the extent of the alcoholics needs.  They allow the alcohol close by the alcoholic, in which case gives the alcoholic access to drinking at any time of day or night.  I found that in many cases the enabler looks at the alcoholic as just an unfit person, and wants to get away from them.  They don’t realize they have help enable the alcoholic to be an alcoholic.

Then about the time they realize, hey she’s an alcoholic, lets get her some help, and in all to many cases it is to late.

They find rehab centers hoping to help her.  But she comes home sober; the enabler continues to drink because he figures the problem has been solved only to find it wasn’t.

So they once again find a rehab center and it all repeats itself.

When the alcoholic’s health begins to fail, the doctor than prescribes drugs, not realizing he is dealing with an alcoholic, he was never told. Only that she drank on occasion.  So now you have an alcoholic with drugs.

And while the enabler believes the drugs will help the drinking continues.  The alcoholic becomes more and more dependant on the drugs along with the alcohol and problems begin.

The children disrespect the alcoholic, the enabler swears he would never had looked at anything like her if he had known what she really was.

And in this case, my daughter died.

Excerpt

If only my daughter would of realized the dangers of the alcoholism, maybe, maybe she would be alive today.  She would have been to her son's graduation from Army bootcamp.

She would have been at her son's wedding.

And she would have attended all her daughters dance competions she has been in over the past year.

What could have been we will never know if only she would have.
