Hanging on to life
As I lie there in my hospital bed
I wondered… will my life soon end?
The doctors were perplexed and thought
Have we tried everything, have wesought..?
One doctor told me that I was a very, very sick man
Have they tried to put my fate intoGod’s hand?
The day and nights were lonely andlong
The tests never-ending, I just gotalong
One surgeon named Gladding, would savemy life
With her skilfull hands and a steadyknife
She removed the ulcer, and thingslooked great
Little did I know at a future date
an infection had formed and got to myheart
More surgery was needed, was I fallingapart?
My heart valve was damaged , I grew soafraid
So, again I found myself under theblade
I had so many people helping me out
I knew I’d recover, without a doubt
My heart valve was repaired, thesecond miracle for me
All my prayers were answered, how goodcould it be?
I live each day now as if I have none
Life is a gift, and I’m NOT done!
