Re: Bug Sis Sam,
You give the deepest and fine analysis 🧐 of poems. I didn’t much think of it that way. But I do agree with the point you made about the irreligious. Think it is subjective - an irreligious person may not invariably an atheist. He thinks there is no God, worshipping is not his cup of tea. He believes in not’, yet he is a believer and could be quite decent and gentle to a woman in a bedroom.

I got this from the poem. Using "Irreligious" contrasts sharply with the traditional, often spiritual sanctity associated with love and intimacy. In a Woman’s Bedroom" establishes a deeply private setting. I have learned that in literature, a bedroom acts as a vulnerability engine. Moving an "irreligious" mindset into this space creates immediate tension: could this secular lover desecrate a sacred space, or is there a new kind of earthly worship there? I can only ponder. As with most poems it's the reader's interpretation. I prefer a new kind of earthly worship because love in an of itself is pure; it is those who misuse it taint it for me. The uses of memoir signifies it as being deeply personal. A well written poem evoking a lot if thought.
