This is my first time reading about Phil. I knew you were a gentle soul from your post. Recently I was talking to my mom who will be 89 this year. We were talking about the task of raising children who will always need care whether it be mental or physical for life. You and your son are an example of what non conditional love requires. He has been surrounded by love all of his life, and that is so wonderful. The Angel man I knew when I was nursing was in care all his life. He to, was a big, tall man. I was older than most of the nurses, and he didn't mind my firm voice if her misbehaved. He would do anything I asked of him! The heads of the staff were amazed.
