Nut to you from the Stone House. I love the flavor of our Black Walnuts that grow here. So good in fudge or cookies or cake, But, I use the English Walnuts in everything because they are so much easier to crack and pick.....and one gets so much more for their money if they have to buy them ready to go.

CCT, I do hope you are having a good night. I hope you put an extra blanket on your bed to keep you warm on a chilly night. It feels cold here, and I think I will add another blanket to my bed too. Have you been having tea with honey on occasion?

Years ago, when my children were young, we lived next door to Walter, a retired carpenter who was in his 90s. Walter had a walnut tree on the corner of his lot - every year he gathered those round green hulls and spread them to dry on a screen door laid across a couple of sawhorses. He also climbed a ladder to clean leaves from the gutters along his roof; boy was he mad when his grandkids made him stop and took the ladder away.
