A snare on a stick pheasants roosted in trees when released at a near grown stage.

Re: FS
A man I knew just get a few cockerels and took one up to London each week.
The price he got on the Black market supported his lifestyle.Â

Re: Sherri
Our meals often consisted of pheasant or rabbit. well until the rabbits caught theÂ
myxomatous. I remember one Christmas we had a home reared gander it was
destined for the Christmas Dinner. As soon as it was served we children began
'Poor old Jack.' I think we little cannibals ate it. My dad told me later he did not enjoy
his Christmas dinner

I have never eaten any type of fowl other than turkey and chicken. I imagine that would have been quite a treat for a hungry soldier.
