Chiff Chaff,
I respect those that have the grit and determination not to say no to anything until they’ve conquered it. My mother that way was very creative and inventive and her dedication often irritated us when we were young. Now, that she is no more, har grit fascinated us.🥹

I knew her granny; she had a bird in a cage in a caravan. Her daughter jilted the young man who had given it to her. His mother came to claw back the bird. Granny was defiant. 'Bird?' she said. 'I don't see no bird. They did not get it.

Good for her. Those games are so unbelieveably rigged! I suspect they had to relinquish the doll to generate money to offset the loss. Hahaha I was so delighted to read she stood her ground until it was forked over.

I remember those old side shows that came along with traveling carnivals. I suppose they still come around, but I no longer like to get out in a crowd where the ground may not be level - due to the need to balance myself with a cane. It might be interesting though, to see a certain monster in chains...
