I think your explanation of Neruda’s use of nature is especially interesting. I like the way you connect the rivers to the speaker’s desire for freedom—the contrast between flowing water and the feeling of being trapped gives the poem a lot of emotional weight. Your observation that the natural landscape becomes almost a representation of the speaker’s soul also stood out to me. It makes the poem feel like it is about much more than simply admiring nature.
