Sam444, the Browns did pay Watson a lot of money. I do miss Cyrus, so it's so nice to get a letter from him. I've received one letter so far. I know he's very busy. The picture his mother shared had a lot of recruits, and it was hard to find him. I hope you have a good week. It seemed like the weekend was gone in the blink of an eye.

I have always thought Watson was overrated. The Browns would be better served to let him go and develop a quarterback. Of course that won't happen because they gave him big money and all of it guaranteed.
I don't think it matters that there's not much going on he will still be glad to hear from you. Being away from home for the first time is rough. I'm happy you are letting him know you care.

Letter writing to the guys in service was a big thing when I was in high school in the 1950s, which was not too long after WWII was settled - boys in my senior class were drafted at age 18 - or as soon as they finished high school - it was our duty to keep in touch with them - this was before the internet, cell phones, or even color TV. It's still the most important connection even now for moral support and to help them fight homesickness.
