Sam444, if a bear started chasing me I’m not sure what I would do! We’ve been enjoying this cool weather. I loved the Chicken story and I did think about your ducks. I love the three way calls too! I hope you have a good night.

I would freak out if I encountered a bear at my age now! Lol The chicken story was cute. I'm used to rounding up ducks but I have to believe chickens would be a bot more difficult. I'm jealous of your cool weather. We are predicted to equal a recird set back in 1958 at 99 degrees. When Friday comes we get to the 80's and it will be a welcome relief. The three way call is cool. I've done three way FaceTime in the past. Have a great evening!

I have never seen a bear in person out in the wild. I believe there are more bears in areas because of human encroachment with development.

Taps, I think every now and then, chickens get out. We have Farmers down the road, and their chickens get loose once in a while. I'm so glad you liked my post.

Good morning. How scary for them. Bears mean serious business, and the reason why there are so many bears in and around Gatlinburg is that the city is located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, right next to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our weather is similar to yours. I'm glad there is no expected rain for today. We plan to head out for our weekly date day this afternoon. I'd like to have a couple of chickens, but we live too close to the railroad tracks for that. Enjoy your day.

I remember driving near Gatlinburg many years ago when Fang and I took the kids on a camping vacation. Turns out that part of the state is bear country, and there are rangers around all the time to keep dumb tourists from approaching them. One dad was setting his little one-year-old on a bear's neck so his wife could take a picture - totally oblivious to the fact that bears are wild animals and not TV cartoons. A ranger yelled at the guy and cracked his whip and the bear took off over the fence and down the hill. Still shaking my head over that one.
