Re: CCT
It’s too bad she overpaid but it must have been worth it to her. Also, it may have been too delicate of a subject to discuss with you though I know you would face helped her to not overpay. 🌹

Re: SAM
Well Sam, anyway she is going to sort through my poems when her alterations are finished and I shall insist on paying. She lost her husband and Son , so I have to consider that. But I would take bets on the fee. 🌺

Re: FS
I don't think folk can believe it when I put a bucket of free flowers out they give furtive glances as if it is a trap.

Re: Sea Gypsy
I must admit I felt a bit , you know a bit, sad in a way. Because she paid more the needed for my brother's house and If I had known her, I would have given her that advice. 🌺

Yes Taps I have to keep a first glance in mind I am apt to make women look beautiful. I need reality, not wishful thinking. 🌺

I feel people in general are isolating themselves more and so they feel funny about reciving acts of kindness.

Re: Amanda
Take my advice always give what you can afford and then divide it in half. One hardly ever gets repaid. 🌺

Re: Sherri
Hm, perhaps you are right. A funny little thing I have to hang out a white cloth so one neighbor can nip across and pick strawberries when I have too many.

Maybe she isn't used to random acts of kindness with nothing expected in return. Some people are funny that way. I wish I were your neighbor. I would gladly trade veggies, herbs, and flowers with you.

I think the lady will get used to you and your ways if you persist just a little. She probably has never been around people as giving (and cute) as you.

She sounds like a very reserved person, quite proper. Probably if she had made your acquaintance first after a while she may have accepted produce. It may be she doesn’t like to eat whatever items you have offered. At any rate, you tried. It takes all kinds. 🌹😄

I don't have a solid answer to your question, but some people, used to keeping their distance from neighbors in the city, don't quite understand the neighborly ways of folks living in the suburbs or the country. Be yourself - it's a good thing.

It is odd that she refused your kindness. All I can think is she must be a suspicious person who is not used to kindness. You are probably wasting your time to offer again. I wouldn't give it much thought because you spread joy and kindness to so many other people. There's always one bad apple in the bunch so to speak.
