I agree for elderly to stay out of the heat. If they must go they need to have water with them at all times. A parasol or umbrella would be wise to have as well. Great work on solving the lock situation and saving some pounds! PLANT THOSE POTATOES!!!!! lol

That door is a blessing--gives you a good way to loose your frustrations with a bit of noise and violence! I have a front door that sometimes requires a good slam to close. Sometimes I wonder if the neighbors wonder what I'm so mad about this time.

I got totally worn out just yesterday wandering around in the total heat and sun. I even took, my walker just in case. When I got home I was so worn out that I lay me down and slept for six hours. So now I'm up and on Blogit in the middle of the night.

Potatoes always make for a good meal. I like mine with butter, salt, and pepper. You gave yours a bit more flavor. I have never eaten Marmite, but since I am mostly British, I'd like to think I would like it.

Of course we oldies have been around since the times when you didn't just replace things but good for you fixing the door like that!I also miss the small one man electrical fixit stores, who sometimes didn't charge you at ll if it was an easy fix.
