Schools are lucky to have someone to assist in this way. The old computers were always a bit dodgy. My brother used to build ours, and he often remarked on poor-quality parts that were included in some boughten ones. Although there are some good firms now. It would be nice if the schools could have new ones.

I like the way you think. Learning on the job is how we did it when heck was a pup, but having experts on the phone line is a good thing when you come to a bump in the road. I admire anyone who can delve into all the ins and outs of today's tech world.

Having your type of experience in today's world is a smart move. Not everyone understands computers so intensely. I have two computer geeks in my family, and they are a blessing to have around when I need them. Congratulations on your transfer closer to home. That too is a blessing.
