Loved this poem! It brought back summer memories of childhood. We were almost never free of socks but for when we wore sandals. We got popsicles to eat or ice creams, drank KoolAid, walked to the library weekly with Mother, got to wear shorts and not uniforms! Ah, and the smell of the summer lawn… Thank you. 🌹

Ciel....
All were fun but I've always been a barefoot girl so I liked that one best. Now I'm still a barefoot "hag" but only inside the house.

Your imagery is on point. I love running around barefoot. 👣

Fantastic poetry. I was suddenly back in my childhood on a warm summers day and Mother had sent me outside to play. I loved to read a book kneeling beside my bed!
