What we are used to calling 'civilization' actually really isn't and hasn't been for a long time: Civilization is about the skills of living together with others--other tribes, other individuals with other beliefs and imperatives. It is about inclusion, not exclusion. Over the generations since folk gathered around and built strong shelters, shared work, specialized jobs and allowed diversity in the neighborhood, we have flipped the concept on its head! Like some other things I could name...
