Kudo on gifting the picture! He'll love it! The garlic coming back every year is awesome. My son got a piece of a rhubarb plant that was 100 years old. It's thriving in his garden. I hope you are feeling better soon. It's probably wise to rest!

Of course the Nuns and other religious entities probably grew herbs and some plants that were used for medical purposes, so they exist in gardens but are toxic if not used with care. When I sold bedding plants I was careful with the selection.🌺

I love the garlic story. Garlic was an important part of my Dad's life. He always grew a nice big garden with a great variety. His main staple was garlic. He said it was good for ones health and well being. He always carried garlic cloves in his breast pocket....even to church services.

Good morning. A peaceful day sounds great. I will finally get one on Monday when the house is quiet once again. It is neat that the nuns planted garlic, and it is still growing year after year. Wild garlic grows everywhere in the woods around Pittsburgh. I love roasting it in the oven with olive oil and using the soft garlic on a loaf of Italian bread. I have a similar painting resembling the one you described. I love those country cottage scenes. Mine has a horse and buggy parked in front of the cottage. Enjoy your quiet day. Mine is going to be long and hectic, but it will also be fun. I will definitely sleep well tonight.
