Re:

CCT, I hope things get better with your water situation.  I feel so bad about your flowers.  I'm not sure what the best plan is.  Can you have gallon jugs of water brought in?

We keep getting pollen warnings, I suppose the continuous wind keeps blowing it around.

No rain forecast here, plants that we do not water just die or look sick. It is a job to sell flowers it is too hot to display them. The Water Board keeps telling folk to do silly things like switch the tap off when you clean your teeth. They should have spent more money

anyone with any idea would realize the rapid increase in housing would need extra support

in more ways than one.

Sherri, I hope the air clears for your Boro's Riverfest and your grandson's birthday party.  It sounds like so much fun.

Re:

Sam444, thanks so much for your recipe.  I love garbanzo beans.  Thanks for the tip on salt water too!  I'm so sorry about your sagebrush.  I have to Google it because I don't know what it looks like.  I hope you have a good day.

The allergic reactions from the smoke seem to be going around worse than the wildfires. John and I had slightly sore throats from the smoke. Zyrtec helped with that issue quite a bit. It's cooler in Pittsburgh today too. I am praying that the next rainfall completely cleanses the air. Thursday, my baby sister is driving up from Delaware for our Boro's Riverfest and my grandson's birthday party; both are planned outdoor activities. 🙏

I hope your air clears up soon. We are getting smoke from Oregon fires. It's going to last for several days. As long as the fires burn. I haven't read anything on containment yet! We had a fire in the foothills on the north end if the city but it's out now. So sad to see the sage brush get burned. It's very pretty in the spring. They are a charred mess now.

Sorry to hear about your sore throats. Gargle with salt water to get relief. A few times a day makes a big difference.

Here's my recipe for crunchy garbanzo beans.

I used dried beans and soak them overnight. 1cup. Or 1 can drained and rinsed. If you used dried beans cook for 11/2  on medium to low heat with 3 cloves

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp smoked paprika,  I used about 3 tablespoons because it's tasty and I like yhe beans coated.

1/2 tsp garlic

1/4 tsp salt

Mix ingredients then spread on a baking sheet. I put parchment paper down first. It helps keep the mess down.

Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or to the preferred crispness. Store in a jar with loose lid so the beans don't become soft.

I hope the fires are out and the smoke clears VERY soon. This world could use a nice stretch of temperate weather, a chance to catch its breath before the next problem moves in. I hope you're feeling much better by the time you read this.

Re:

FSI, I'm so glad you are feeling better.  I think the air affected all of us.  It's been terrible.  I hope you have a good day and a great week.

My throat was sore with the air quality. Once it moved out late Saturday evening/early Sunday morning, I was fine.
