When you began describing the birds I went to the movie as well. A great picture but so eerie at the same time. The crazy part of the movie thst freaked me out was the farmer who had his eyes pecked out by the birds.

That was a creepy movie, and I can see your point of view. We have twenty or so pigeons that line up on the power lines behind our house, watching for me to fill the feeders so they can swoop down for a meal. The image of birds lined up on wires has become so iconic that it appears in art, photography and even serves as inspiration for music. The power lines provide excellent vantage points to spot both potential predators and prey. And it's a convenient resting spot where natural perches may be limited due to development and deforestation.
