My sister has a fear of ducks. What happened is that Mom would take us when we were little to feed ducks at a pond. They would come up, and it freaked out Ann to this day.

I am all for deep cleaning monthly as well. Otherwise, things can get out of hand pretty quickly. We don't have ducks visiting our yard like our many other woodland creatures, but we have them on the river that runs behind our house. They are docile creatures who are fairly trusting of humans. I love the green-headed mallards the most, but a mama leading her ducklings all in a row is a pretty special sight to see. 🦆

Sam I once knew an old smallholder. He thought he would like some ducks as he had a natural forming pool. He told me he was disappointed as the never laid eggs.

We kept ducks but we never let them out early so they laid their eggs in the duck shed.

Of course the old chap let his ducks out early and they laid their eggs in the pool.🌺

I used to clean house to an appropriate soundtrack. My favorite was the one from the movie CONAN THE BARBARIAN by Basil Polidouris. It made getting through whatever I was attacking much more enjoyable!

Sam444, I love ducks.  When I was little, I stayed on my grandparents' farm, and I had a pet duck.  I was the boss, and my duck knew it.  He was awesome.  Whatever I said was the way it was.  I hope you have a great weekend.  Stay cool!

I've lived on a farm for a time, took care of feeding & milking cows, tended the chickens, gathered eggs, worked the garden. But never got to know any ducks. There's a lake about half a mile from here where there are Mallards and the occasional Canada goose. But they're not domesticated and I have never seen them interact with people. Interesting to know they do that.
