I do prefer melons but it seems a lot of aggro when one can pick one up at the Supermarket. I notice that I have one tomato nearly ripe and peppers.

The environment is under duress with high heat. Prickly cucumbers can be a product of this. Maybe try growing Persian or English cucumbers. They normally come out smooth. 🥒
