Military guys are the best. My kids grandfather trained fighter pilots in WWII. He regretting being too old when the kids were growing up because he longed to teach them to fly. I have mixed emotions about serving even though my son was an MP and did a tour in Afghanistan. His Military training actually prepared him for the job he has now in emergency preparedness. My beef is the use of agent orange. The civilians that were harmed on Viet Nam plus the US soldiers that got cancer from it including my beloved brother-in-law. But I wish Cyrus all the best. I believe he will be a wonderful soldier. Nice to get a cool down. We are mid 90's for the rest of the month!

Very exciting about Cyrus and the Marines. I guess he would go to Parris Island.

Yes, I always loved to hear stories from my barber when I was young. He served in the Navy during World War 2. It is always good to hear firsthand accounts of their experiences. Today, few people ask veterans about their encounters. My grandchildren have never asked me what I experienced.

Good afternoon. Thank goodness it has cooled down a bit. I welcome the rain. Those old military stories are the best. John and I enjoyed listening to my Poppop talk about his adventures while serving in WWII. Enjoy your day.

This is a good time to remember our guys who served with gratitude, and to listen to their stories. We need to keep in mind who and what makes our nation the treasure it is.
