To keep bears out of your yard it's a good idea to stow your trash in a bear-proof garbage can and stop refilling bird feeders. If you're driving through the great Smoky Mountains, do not stop alongside the road to pet a bear or set your 2-year-old on its neck for a photo op. This ticks off the park ranger and causes a traffic jam.

My suggestion would be to stay away from any bears anywhere! I don't think I'm going to be taking these precautions. haha
