Great indeed it is to be connected, Bearcat Mike. Elderly people miss a lot. We must take care of their feelings.

When I fly, I travel with a power bank so I don’t have to worry about finding a charging area. What a wonderful surprise for your mother. You are a fine son! Kudos 👏

I’m glad you are getting to visit your mom. It’s a shame that some  people today still prejudge others for whatever reason. Just the other day my hubby was in  a convenience store, bent and using his cane. A young guy in “gang” attire was in front of him. The young man was so helpful and polite and offered to help my hubby by letting him go first and then helping with the door. You just never know…

What a wonderful surprise for your mom. You are right though. Traveling is a pain, especially by plane. Last year in November we flew to Nevada. The 5-hour Las Vegas layover was irritating. I read a book to pass the time, we played the slots, and we walked around the airport. It is huge. The last leg of our flight only took an hour. I was ecstatic when we finally hit the highway in our rental car.

Good morning

BearcatMike, I'm so excited for you.  It is so nice that you get to visit your Mom before starting your new position.  I know she was happy when she saw you walk through the door.  It will be so nice to visit and catch up with what has been going on in the family.  To me, you are a world traveler.  I was on a plane years ago, and I remember the air turbulence.  I didn't know what it was, but I was told, and I wanted no part of it.  That was my last plane ride.  Now they put you through a lot to get on the plane.  I know it's necessary, but I really prefer to drive.  We've driven across country twice and been out west.  I loved it.  It's a beautiful country.  I've been elsewhere around the country, but we always drove to wherever we were going.  I hope you have a wonderful time.
