I love strawberries and really do like eggs. I I hope you are eating healthy and not spending too much time out in the heat. We have not had much excessive heat where I live - yet.

Re: Re: Ciel
Zinc has no particular flavor, and has the added advantage that it will prevent moss from growing on you, as people use it on the ridge of their roofs for that purpose: when the rain dissolved it and it runs down the shingles.

Re: Pat
Yes I remember you saying about the strawberry picking a lot are now grown in quite a different way. I remember well overheard a man telling his three children before the entered the pick your own berries. ' Now eat as many as you like, but don't you dare
ask for any when we get back home. I suppose they never weighed the children🌺

Re: Ciel
I don't know if I would fancy zinc. Do you know anything else like chocolate or red wine. To think the Thames once held fairs on the ice in Winter.. 🌺

Re: Taps
I think you might have been eggposed at an early age. My friend who used to help me would just swallow a cracked egg raw if we found one. Kids used to eat birds eggs in my Mother's time.🌺

Re: Good Evening
Well I grow the strawberries in containers and this is the first time that have taken runners
because this variety keeps fruiting for a long time whereas most only crop[ once.

Re: SAm
Well Sam here if one hobbles along to a certain age (old) in theory one is allowed to water by hosepipe. Water bills are quite high though.🌺

Some sweet strawberries alongside a slice of pound cake topped with whipped cream would be heavenly. 🍓I hope the rain arrives quickly to give your berries a good drink.

Relatively speaking, our spring has not been too hot. We had some hot days, but they are few and far between. Mostly manageable on the temperature front.

Since I live in desert I'm used to no rain. We rely on irrigation water that comes to us from the Boise River via canals. I think it would drive me crazy if I had to wait for nature to deliver the water. Anxious to read about the eggs!

Good Evening
It's been cooler than usual here. Next week it's supposed to get really hot, and it's going to be almost 90. We have two of our 4 air conditioners installed. I can't have the bedroom and kitchen one installed until the new windows are put in. I love strawberries, and every time you write about them, I wish I had some. I hope you are surviving the heat okay. That is something about the missing shoe. You will have to lock them up. I hope you have a good night.

I do not like eggs cooked it ysed any way at all. They give me the Willie's. The only way I can abide them is the use of Mayonnaise on a sandwich or salad dressing. I've been very finicky since I was a child and found pieces of egg shell in my scrambled egg.

My daughter and her family are now living in the area around Hampton Court Palace, and have also reported it hotter than expected.
There are reports that zinc tablets can help with the sense of taste.

Where I grew up in Washington State, on the coastal side of the Cascade Range, we had a lot of rain and cloudy weather. Big growers raised lots of strawberries, which was a summer job for my family. We picked them into quart-sized square containers, and they were sold at wholesale as well as local farmers' markets. No strawberry tastes better than the fully ripened ones right off the plants that were too mature to last the extra 2 or 3 days from the plant to the markets. I hope the weather works in your favor.
