Re:

Sea Gypsy, it's been quiet since the holiday, and I'm very thankful for that.  I don't want to have a redo of the incident with the yellow spider.  That was just about too much for me.  I hope you have a good day.

Re:

FSI,  I have to say, smooth sailing from here sounds good to me.  I hope you have a good day!

Omigod! That spider would have done it for me! You poor things yikes. Hope today was calmer.

It is all smooth sailing from here.

Re:

Pat, I'm not sure what kind of spider it was.  Our meals always turn out good, so I guess that's the important thing, along with all of us being together.  I hope you had a good day.

Re:

Sam444, I think my goal has always been to give the kids good memories.  I spend hours planning, but I seriously think I'm putting too much time into it.

Re:

Sherri, this made me smile.  There's been an awful lot of talk about aliens online.  I wonder if they are trying to tell us something.

Re:

Sherri, I hope you had a good day too!  I'm very thankful the spider didn't bite me.  I don't want the spiders to get too close to me.

There are worse things than being remembered as the lively, unpredictable grandmother.
I am not familiar with what type of spider is yellow, but I'm thinking it probably is not poisonous, and it may eat mosquitos.  I think your holiday meal arrangements sound like a wonderful way to keep family ties happy.

How utterly crazy on the spider ordeal. I'm sure it was as frightened as you were. I think it's good to plan but not have great expectations because we always seem to get let down a bit. If everyone had a great time then the planning has a lot to do with it. I think your memories to the grandkids are awesome.

I forgot to add that my internet was in and out for a few hours yesterday. Since we live just 3 hours apart, it makes you wonder if the aliens were passing through and knocked everything out. 👽

Your air-conditioners were installed in perfect timing. The heat is starting to show up at full blast. Your cookouts will certainly be memorable for your grandchildren. I'm glad that spider didn't bite you. My brother-in-law was bitten by a spider a few years ago. It made him really sick, and the location of the bite swelled up and was itchy for almost a week. It is 80 degrees and cloudy, but thankfully there is no sign of rain today in Pittsburgh. We are headed up the mountain in an hour to take our usual Tuesday drive. It is a great day for it. I hope you enjoy your day as well.
