Re: Dear Sea Sis,
Divide a poem in 8 and 6 lines — , and these 14 become an octave where a question is asked and the six lines, a sestet becomes the answer. You Sis, can do anything with great 😌 finesse. That I’m sure.

Re: Sherri G,
When it comes to lyrics, there is no language that comes anywhere to Urdu. The similes and the metaphors are simply brilliant. Shamaji uses them so tellingly.

A sonnet is a challenge for me. Would like to write one successfully that isn't stilted.

I have never attempted to write a lyric in the forms listed but you have inspired me to attempt one. I think I will study Shelley's poem before I attempt one. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I can see how emotion and lyrics go hand in hand. Most songs are written with emotional backing, as are good poems.

Thanks for the knowledge. I especially enjoyed the fact that the first lyrics were accompanied by the lyre. Next is the fact that we used the word "lyrics" to refer to the words of a song.
