Re: Re: CCT

Pigeons are a pain. It sounds like the fox is semi-tame. Probably not worth his effort to go after the Magpies. Red roseOpen-mouthed smile

One cannot help smiling, I gave a bunch of odd pinks to a lady fourteen years younger than myself also a glass of pomegranate juice which she said made her feel somewhat elated.

My reason for doing so . I could put guess but it was simply because she used to buy my S.I.L a lardy cake every week.as she was her neighbor and my S.I.L. always spoke well of her.

Anyway Archie came down the next morning. 'You are in the doghouse.' he said.

I don't take much notice of his little problems. 'What! I gave a little bark 'Bow-wow.'

Archie tried to stay indignant . 'You gave that old besom a bunch of pinks.'

Trish would have liked them. 'Well they were a scabby bunch I said and why did

she show Trish them.? 'Huh! she called to see if she could buy some rhubarb. I expect

she did not think.. You had better ring up and explain.  'I think you are making it up.'

I said, but I will send Trish a bunch of these beautiful red Geraniums. ' Huh! we don't want those stinking things. I expect he made a lot of it up as he holds a little grievance about a job he did for her ten years ago.

Re: Sam

Something has got to happen here it is ridiculous we use the same water for everything

The rivers are being polluted. some houses just pay a basic sum but more and more are being placed on meters. Of course years ago folk had wells and Bucket lavs. Water is much too cheap although it looks like it might be wiser to drink Bottled if not boiled.🌺

Re: Sea Gypsy

Yes I was watching it last night it was on the front garden and two Magpies were searching for food. Every now and again it would halfheartedly  give a little jump towards the nearest,

they did not take a lot of notice it might have been different if it had been pigeons🌺

Yes, that’s a sly fox for sure! How interesting.

The fox is living up to the reputation, sly! Speaking of wells, I have cautioned my daughter to find a property with a well and city water. But, a well first. Her ducks require a lot of water daily plus she has an above ground pool. She can't afford city water on those requirements.

Foxes are clever fellows! I'd be delighted to have one visiting regularly. Well, I say that possibly because I don't have one visiting regularly. But I have seen and heard them around here over the years.

Good Morning

I'm so sorry about your water problems.  I hope it rains soon.  Contaminated water is not good.  We have water treatment plants, and I hope they are doing what they are supposed to do.  So many people live in our area that our powers that be have a lot of responsibility to keep our water fresh and clean.  We have sewer treatment plants that work around the clock.  We live near the Cuyahoga River, and when it rains and there are storms, it looks dirty.  When the river rises, it scares me.  Thankfully, we are up on a large incline.  They tell me the whole valley would have to flood before it gets to us.  I hope they are telling the truth.

We are in a drought as well where I'm at. We have voluntary water restrictions.

Your posts about the gardening remind me of my mother, who had a green thumb - meaning she could get anything to grow. She fed the family from her garden, canned vegetables and fruit, made jam and jelly, pickled cucumbers with several different recipes, and I believe eating that way was a healthy foundation for life. These days we buy food that has all kinds of additives and chemicals - not all of which are really good for us. I hope when you are out there in your berry patch that you are eating fruit right off the vine.
