Sadly do-gooder's do not always realize that it is not so easy to do what they think is beneficial, most folk really hate giving up driving even if signs show it would be wise. Or giving up their house it is like losing a part of oneself. This is a problem because folk are living longer and obviously want to carry on in the same way as long as possible.
I know it hurts at times.

Wow, what a mess. I read somewhere that there will be family turning against family towards the end of times. The biggest problem in these family situations is everyone coming to a likeminded agreement, and the answers are never easy when it involves someone we dearly love. You are doing the best that you can and that is all that anyone can ask for. Your attention to the details is truly admirable. Having helpers look out for your mother is truly a blessing. I hope your family can all reach a workable solution. 🙏

Being old myself now and forgetting things I didn't used to but feeling absolutely one hundred percent about times long gone, I sympathize with you all. This is most unfair and it is not their business. It is you, her children and the dr. who really know how she is. Some families just seem to have to poke their noses in.Pull it for them next time...their nose!

Thanks, I needed that. Some of my family is stepping up. However, they don't understand how Mom feels. I agree with you, it is none of their business.

I'm sorry to read of all the negative feedback you're getting from those who aren't stepping forward themselves. If you and your mom are OK with how thing are working, it's none of their darn beeswax. Relax. Be kind to yourself.
