What a nice post! How great to run into that couple and to get a chance to remember times that were so different and that you enjoyed. Good for you.

When the pace of life was slower, but I am cunning now. I have slowed myself right down to that pace.

That is such a neat coincidence. It is a small world after all, and it is pretty wild that things have mostly remained the same since 1960 at the facility. It's also a bit funny how a stranger can have something so big in common with you. ☺️

Connections with other places, other times--like anchors to moments of our lives. This was a cool encounter!

Pat.....

So many  memories, all around us, of things so long ago.  My first job after high school was on a hill overlooking downtown Kansas City.  That hill was called Hospital Hill because it held four hospitals, among other things.  Now all four of those hospitals are gone and it is just a pretty hill overlooking downtown KC.
