I have a small guy that lives in my front tree and has been there for some years. His Momma always chases away the babies but this one being small, she allowed to stay close to her.

Oh, geez, I hope they get the chance to grow into adults. We have a redtail hawk wreaking havoc on the smaller food chain fur babies and feathered friends. The circle of life can be a cruel one.
