Many of his stories are far too disturbing for children. I had lots of books of fairy tales as a child but never asked for his tales to be read to me, including this one, nor did I read them much as a child or adult. A sanitized version of Thumbelina was one I did like though. His stories gave me a “creep” factor. I get your point though. 🌹🤓

He should probably be given a prize for being the world's greatest narcissist. Look up our wanna be kings' photo in the dictionary, and you will find a few descriptions: vain, idiot, manipulator, womanizer, demon, and delusional.

Oh yes. My Dad always read me stories, but he never did that one. I think he was afraid that I would ask him what a naked Emperor looked like. He liked to major on Aesop's Fables.
