Well Sir, I would never read the original or maybe I have read and forgotten.

Your info is so direct that one can experience quite vividly the creak of the ropes

as the ship sails with all that is happening as each character responds faithfully 

in the manner that the author hopefully portrayed. Sadly, I am developing a short memory 

syndrome so I have to capture as it happens.+

This would indeed make a good horror movie. The supernatural speaking to a couple on the way to a wedding. I wonder if this is an unconscious reference to their fear of marriage. I love the hypnotic description of how the old mariner seems to mentally submit them to listening to his story. The picture of the scene is colorful in depth and description. Transforming you to the sea.
