I don't think there's a true answer to the listlessness as we get older. It might be that things don't irritate us much. I know in the past if there was dust or dirty floors I would get on it like ugly on an ape, but now I get to it when I'm in the mood! Lol

Good Evenings

Taps, I think the secret to living a good life when we are older is to simply rest when we need to and do whatever we want for the rest of the time.  It sounds perfect to me.  I've had a rough couple of weeks with my teeth, but hopefully that's behind me.  Today I cleaned the microwave, and I feel like I've accomplished something.  It's a good feeling.  I hope you have a good night.

The thing one must not do is get depressed. Try to have a decent meal. I do try to snap out of it, although some things make one feel like a bit of ass-kicking would not be undesirable.  🌺

My father is 69 and finds himself getting wiped out at times.

Re: Ciel....

I keep planning for the home  housekeeping just haven't done it yet.   I have this list with all they do and  I am planing to begin with kitchen and bathroom mopping and carpet cleaning.   I'm looking forward to having more energy. Vacuuming and mopping just wear me out.

Re: Pat....

I took your advice.   I had some great beef and vegetable stew with lots of good-for-you stuff in it.  I heated it and ate the whole thing and I can feel strength surging back into my body.  It also tasted great.  I think I'll get my clothes washed today after I make I nice pot  of Keurig  and a few exercises to get me going.

Oh yes dear, I think we all age now at different stages. I can do anything I want or need to do but I am exhausted for a couple of days after. I am sure it has to get slower with each year that passes.

Could be a good time to arrange a regular check-in with someone who can help out with the exhausting things, and to pick you up when necessary! No good reason not to save your energy for the things you enjoy most!

It may be age, but I sometimes experience the things you described from time to time and I am 61. Mine falls back on health issues, but I struggle through it on the bad days. Medication also helps. Maybe it is time to get some blood work done.

I could have written this post - the concerns, the exhaustion after what was once an ordinary day, the 'I've fallen and I can't get up' times. I believe it goes with the age we are. We have to focus on the things we can do, take it one step at a time, and if we get dizzy, follow Dr.'s advice and "for Pete's sake, eat something!"  As the poet says, this is "the last of life for which the first was made."
