Good Afternoon
I love this post.ย I think a little girl of 5 will think most people are old.ย When I was little, I thought most people were old, but now I don't see anyone as old.ย It's funny how that works.

Re: Pat
They were really hard times no wonder men looked old. I was listening to my father onceย
there were three men discussing age. Most were in their sixties. We will get the pension soon I heard one say. 'Yes I'll be sixty-four said the oldest. Pension Age was sixty-five for a man. They did not make it. ๐บ

Re: Kabu
A psychologist asked me if I would have an affair. I said I think of what my father
'If it had not been for the war, you would have had more brothers and sisters.'
Of course, being a smart guy, I said, A pity was not one of them.๐บ๐บ

It's funny. When I was a kid, 40 was ancient. Now that I am 40, not so.

This poem brought back memories of when my kids were young and the neighborhood kids would visit. My son, Christopher, had a Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist doll. I would take the doll and do a spiel for the kids. His name when I was the 'mouthpiece' was Chuck, Chuck Wagon. Lol

That is funny. I love watching a ventriloquist do their magic with a dummy. I love how they blame them for everything.

Absolutely delightful, gentle words. You would have made a great father, grandfather, uncle etc.

I'm enjoying the visuals your post today brings to mind. When I was a kid our next-door neighbor was in his late 70s, "Old George." He had marvelous stories about his times as a logger with a frontier-era company, as he worked with a team of horses to drag fresh-cut logs down the mountain slopes to a logging truck alongside the 2-lane asphalt road that waited to haul them to a sawmill.ย
