Prices...
Even when I was little in the late forties and early fifties, Mum and Dad would tell me that the sweets we bought for threepence, they could buy for a penny, when they were kids.

I think that is about right. Once we bought a penny lardie, 1 penny, now 1 pound. There were 240 pennies in a pound.🦋

Isn't that fantastic? We would all have been rich if we made the money we make today in 1917. History really makes you think, "What if?" My father was born in 1923. He used to tell me you could buy a lot of groceries with only ten cents. Really shows you the crazy cost of living through time.
