The reason for not smoking is when you inhale the cigarette smoke the suction could dislodge the blood clot.

Re:
Sam444, I'm doing everything they told me to do. They said it's a good thing I'm not a smoker. I'm not sure why that is, but I've never smoked. The nurse said that it was a good thing. I hope you have a good night.

Having gone through 3 kids and an ex-husband having wisdom teeth pulled a dry socket can lead to longer healing. A dry socket is: After your tooth is extracted, a blood clot forms in the empty socket to protect the underlying bone and nerve endings during the healing process. A dry socket occurs when this blood clot is dislodged too early or fails to form. This leaves the bone and nerves exposed to air, debris, and bacteria, which can cause significant pain and delay healing. Make sure you do what they instructed you so it heals quickly.

Sherri, Oh no! I hope I don't get that. Did it last a long time? I'm trying to follow all the instructions they gave me. We just had a bad storm go through our area. I hope you have a good night.

Re:
Kabu, my granddaughter, held my hand while they were drilling, and I was so thankful she was there. I think you can take family, friends, or neighbors. My next visit, my grandson Caeser will be there. That visit will be for the dentist to check and make sure my gums are healing. Then I'm do for a cleaning. I have to go to the hearing doctor tomorrow, and Caeser is taking me. I'm done with my eye appointments, and I just have to get through my dental appointments.

Re:
CCT, thanks for thinking about me. That was so kind of you. Once I'm healed, I will be back to normal, and I will be very thankful. I hope you have a good night. It's been two full days, and I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Oh, yikes! You do not want dry sockets. They are worse than childbirth. I had it in 1994 after a tooth extraction. The pain was excruciating. I'm glad that the weather is slowly getting better, but those high winds just won't take a break. It's wonderful that you have older grandchildren who can drive you around to appointments. My two grandkids are almost to the driving age.

I thought about you today and am glad it is over. I really hate it when the Dentist says, time for a check up.. Ours now take cysts off as well. Costs a pretty penny. 🌺
