English is a crazy language but I have used it all my life and was well taught at school and at home.

Yes one would have thought it would have been more decisive. Some words may have been formed depending on one's location. Perhaps.🦋

I used to pronounce Reading, Pennsylvania as Reeding. It was funny. I was at a minor league baseball game where the announcer pronounced it correctly. I said to my father, "He's saying it wrong." Dad told me I was the one in the wrong.
